Some of the slogans during the World Series Cricket days of “Big Men play at Night” and/or the slightly risque “We play night cricket with two balls” are the forebearers of One day Cricket today.

The BBC recounts some of the most memorable moments from the annual Australian one day series. The series of course was the first to carry on the innovations from the World Series Cricket in terms of coloured clothing, floodlights and white balls to official cricket for the first time.

Memories include the infamous underarm incident, the West Indies – Australia tie in 1984, England’s sole success in 1986/87, the Australia vs Australia A final in 1995, Australia not making the final in 2002 (NZ & South Africa were the controversial finalists) and so on.
