The second cricket Test Match between India and Pakistan is heading towards a draw on day 5. Both Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf were on unbeaten centuries 159 not out and 118 not out respectively at the time of this post.

With Pakistan ahead by nearly 400 runs, with 31 overs left in the game, the Test is meandering its way to a dull draw.

What an absolute let down with all the hype that was built up before the series.

For reasons best known to the Pakistani authorities, the groundsmen in Lahore & Faisalabad (I actually read somewhere it is the same person), seemed to be in a competition to produce the most dead wicket ever made. Bowlers on each side have really struggled on the batsmen paradise – does not really make for good cricket.

I think that India have come away with the psychological point in both the Tests, with the 410 opening partnership in the first Test and then through Dhoni and Pathan’s herioics ensuring that India actually surpassed the Pakistan first innings total of 588.

So onto Karachi itseems, where from first reports there are suggestions of a ‘green top’ being prepared.

Some interesting new selections in the Pakistan team for the 3rd Test with Umar Gul and Faisal Iqbal coming back to the team. Iqbal gets the nod following a strong domestic showing, but also because Asim Kamal missed out on a domestic game and Hasan Reza has a hairline fracture.
