Cricket News – South Africa bat on winning toss in the 3rd Cricket Test Match

Jacques Kallis won the toss in his first Test match as captain of South Africa and decided to bat. Kallis is standing in for injured captian Graeme Smith.

At the time of this post, South Africa were 97 for 3 off 36 overs. The men out were AB DeVilliers who drove uppishly off Stuart Clark and was caught by Damien Martyn in the covers and Gibbs who offered no shot to an incoming delivery from Michael Kasprowicz and was comprehensively bowled.

Boeta Dippenaar (I can’t understand why he is was not in the first two Tests) made an assured 32 was caught behind off Stuart Clark.

Captain Kallis was unbeaten on 30, but will have to lead a major rebuilding exercise.
