Cricket News – Watson a favourite for No.6 – says Border

Border has tipped that Shane Watson might be the number 6 for Australia during the Ashes series. I for one find that quite unbelievable – there is no way that Watson is a better batsman than Michael Clarke.

Of course, the Australian selectors probably see Watson as Australia’s answer to Flintoff as an all rounder. But give us a break – Flintoff is in a different class altogether. Watson’s bowling is nowhere as effective as Flintoff’s.

Also Clarke can be quite effective with his left arm spin, especially if the wicket is dry & turning (likely in the hot Australian summer ahead).

Anyway here is the story on why Border thinks Watson is the man for the job.

Allan Border has tipped Shane Watson for the No. 6 spot in Australia’s batting order ahead of the Ashes.
